Evelyn Morales was ordained a Deacon in June 2006 and was installed at St. Mary's in October 2006.  Evelyn received her B.A. in Social Sciences at the University of California at Berkeley, and she received her M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling at UNC - Chapel Hill.  She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Brazil for two years.  Currently she is an adjunct  executive coach at the Center for Creative Leadership. Her community involvement includes having served on the Board of Directors of Hospice of the Piedmont, High Point Mental Health Association, United Way of Greater High Point, Community Clinic of High Point, and the Latino Family Center.  Her Diaconal focus is on ministry with Latinos.  At St. Mary's she is the liaison with the Latino Family Center and  Guilford Technical Community College for the Family Literacy Program which is held at St. Mary's during the academic year.  She has completed Stephen's Leader Training and is assigned to the Stephens Ministry program,  She participates on the Matthew 25:40 committee and on the Main St. Coalition of the downtown churches.  She also provides pastoral care and is in charge of the Chalicers and the Lay Eucharistic Ministers.  On the Diocesan level, she is a member of the Chartered Committee for Hispanic Ministry and the Chartered Committee of the School of Ministry.

Staff

 

 

 

Dr. Harold Andrews, organist and choirmaster, holds a Doctorate in organ music from Boston University, as well as a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Music degree in organ music from Oberlin Conservatory.  He held the position of Professor of Organ Music at Greensboro College, and has been organist and choirmaster at St. Mary's for many years. Dr. Andrews has also been building pipe organs professionally since 1991 through his own company, Organcraft.

St. Mary's Music Academy leader  and Youth Choir director Margaret McDonald received her Master of Music Education from the UNC-Greensboro, and her Bachelor of Music Education from Greensboro College with a concentration in piano. She is an experienced music educator, having taught in both elementary and middle schools in Guilford County for over 30 years.  Margaret has directed the Youth Choir program at St. Mary's for 21 years. Two of these choirs have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Duana joined the staff of St. Mary's in March 2006.  She has a great love of children and has worked with them for many years. Duana is an Accredited Godly Play teacher and has successfully implemented that program at St. Mary's.  In 2002, she and her husband Rich were married. They have 3 children, Michael, Alexandra and Samantha, and live in Greensboro.

Scott joined the staff of St. Mary's in August 2008.  He has been a Youth Counselor for over 10 years and enjoys working with youth in our community.  Scott has been married for 14 years to his wife, Jill, and they have 2 wonderful children; son, Matthew, and daughter, Katie.

Rosemary Inman became the financial secretary of St. Mary's in March 1998. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia. Rosemary has been in the bookkeeping field for 24 years.  She and her husband Tom live in north High Point and have two sons, Riley and Davis. She is a baseball and football mom and an active member of Green Street Baptist Church.

Shannon Watts joined us January 1st, 2008.  She has been in the administrative field for over 10 years.  Prior to joining us, Shannon had worked in several different industries and has held numerous positions, including everything from office manager to receptionist.  She comes to us with the experience and knowledge to keep our office running smoothly.  Shannon and her husband have a daughter, Laney.
