ECW (Episcopal Church Women)

All women of St. Mary's are members of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) and are invited to attend our General Meetings and the monthly chapter meetings. ECW is an organization through which a woman can achieve a deeper faith by prayer, study, fellowship and Christian service.

St. Mary's chapter is a member of the Greensboro Convocation and the Diocese of North Carolina. Pledges and funds raised through our fund raisers are used both within the parish and outside the parish. The website for the North Carolina ECW is http://www.ecw-nc.org.

We have four general meetings each year, which are usually on the first Monday of March, May, September and December at 12 noon in the Parish Hall (watch the Herald Newsletter for definite dates). We have speakers or a program at the March, May and December meetings. The September meeting serves as our annual business meeting.

ECW Chapters - The five chapters (St. Anne's, St. Cecelia's,  St. Catherine's, St Clare's, and St. Margaret's) meet monthly (September- May) on the second Monday of most months (read The Herald newsletter for definite dates and times). St. Anne's meets at 6:00 PM, St. Catherine's meets at 9:30 AM in the Common Room at church, St. Cecilia's meets at 10:00 AM at a member's home and St. Margaret's meets at 12:00 noon, also at a member's home. Each chapter has its own flavor and zest: Where some stress camaraderie another may emphasize study.
