The Brotherhood of St. Andrew

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a men's service and fellowship organization open to all men in the parish. The primary focus of our fundraising efforts is to support the youth of St. Mary's, our community, and worldwide.  Our primary fundraisers, an annual Christmas tree sale and semiannual pine needle sale, have helped to support youth programs in many ways over the years. We have also given financial assistance to our Youth Choirs, Thompson Home & Family focus, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Boy Scouts Troop 7, and other worthy organizations.

In addition to financial assistance to our Church and community, we are frequently asked to cook for Church activities (Newcomers picnic, semiannual Parish Clean Up). We have assisted in helping to keep the grounds of St. Mary's orderly, periodically clearing heavy overgrowth around the parking lot.  Our members also participate in several service projects outside of our church including Mobile Meals, work with Habitat for Humanity, cooking for the Open Door shelter, and other volunteer groups when asked.

In 2006, we decided to reach out further with our ministry and adopted 3 youths from the church sponsored orphanage in Uganda.  As a result, we get quarterly updates on these fine children on their progress at school and socially.

The most important facet of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew is the fellowship these projects afford folks who otherwise would not get the opportunity to know each other! We encourage participation from any interested men. If you're interested in learning more, please call David Penley at
